Apis florea in Jordan

  The distribution area of A. florea is generally confined to warm climates, such as warmer parts of Oman, The Arabian Gulf countries , Iran, Pakistan, Indian sub-continent, Srilanka and Indonisia. But it's primary distribution center is southeast Asia. These bees are very gentle and not harmful and they are very good for the biodiversity. In the beginning of 2007 ,    this species had been registered for the first time  by the bee Research Unit of Jordan.  

The Bee Research Unit in the National Center and Agricultural Research and Technology Transfer (NCARTT) in cooperation with (UNIDO) and (FAO),organized a training course  for Iraqi bee specialists  about Beekeeping .The training course include lectures, scientific visits, and practical beekeeping aspects.
